Year round grief support services to children ages 3 ½ to 18 and their families, as well as young adults ages 19-25, who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Many children who grow up with addiction in their family feel responsible for their family member’s substance use disorder. The first half of the 7 C’s stress that children are not responsible for the family member’s substance use or misuse. The remaining 7 C’s focus on healthy coping skills such communicating feelings and the importance of self-care. These are important messages that are woven into the activities at each Camp Mariposa weekend.
The Center for Grieving Children (The Center) helps children grieving a death heal and grow through their grief while strengthening families, communities, and professionals' understanding of how best to respond to their needs.
GRASP was founded to help provide sources of help, compassion and most of all, understanding, for families or individuals who have had a loved one die as a result of addiction or substance abuse.
